Hercules and the Golden Rings

Eurystheus was still not pleased with Hercules’s labors. Hercules had already captured the furious beasts and battled with the man eating horses. What else could he possibly do? Eurystheus then commanded Hercules to go get the 5 golden rings.  This was not an easy task. Hercules would have to go into the deepest, darkest, scariest, cave. This cave was called the Forbidden cave because there were man eating birds everywhere and they swoop down when you least expect it.  The golden rings wouldn’t just be laying there; they were attached to an evil hand that if you got caught by it, it would drag you into the underworld.
Hercules set on his journey in the morning. He knew this would be dangerous, but he was prepared. He crossed the raging rivers, swam across the ocean, and crossed the muddy swamp. After many hours of travel, he reached the Forbidden cave.
Hercules marched right into that cave and birds started zooming all around. Most of them went for his eyes but he smacked them away. Hercules was so strong, that the birds died when he smacked them. He was killing birds one by one, and soon he had killed every single bird that was brave enough to attack him. Hercules wandered around that cave until he saw a streak of light, lying there on the ground were the 5 golden rings. Hercules quietly snuck up on the rings and when he was just about to grab them, the hand floated up and tried to grab Hercules. He was too fast, and dodged the hand, if not he would have been in the underworld in one second. The hand tried again, but he was way too fast. Hercules grabbed a giant bolder and right as the evil hand was about to pick him up, he threw the rock in its grasp and the evil hand took the rock into the underworld. The 5 golden rings flew off the hand and Hercules scooped them up. He ran as fast as he could and all of a sudden a bird flew and took a chunk of skin from his neck. Hercules hit the bird with the golden ring, and it was dead.  Bloody, but alive, Hercules swam across the ocean yet again, and returned the golden rings to Eurystheus.

Hurricane Allison

Life was good on the coast of Noopu. The village was a wonderful place. No contention and no greed. Everyone treated everyone fairly and they were all friends. The village was beautiful and anyone could go to the beach until it happened.
It started out like any other day, Ozzie and Celia and their groups of friends were at the beach, enjoying their pina colodia when a family that they’d never seen before came and sat right by them. This family was very different from the rest of the people of Noopu. They each had a different design on their faces, and looked almost like they were form a different planet. They were very scary and nobody wanted to talk to them. Celia being the bravest started talking to them. “Hi, I’m Celia and this is my best friend Ozzie.” said Celia. “My name’s Allison and this is Floyd, George, Iris, Katrina, Keith, Lenny, and Michelle.” Said Allison. “What bring you guys here?” she asked. “Oh well, we had some problems in the last town we lived in.” and that was all she said before they left.
Two weeks later Ozzie and Celia ran into this strange family again. This time, they noticed each had a leather pouch and immediately became very curious of what was in it. “Hey Allison! I’m very curious. What do you have in your pouch?” Celia asked. “Nothing. Never open it. Ever.” Allison said very seriously. “Well why not?” Ozzie asked. “Never open it.” she repeated. “We need to get that pouch. She probably has riches in it.” Ozzie said very quietly. “I agree, but first we need to make up a brilliant plan.”
They thought for hours and hours. They couldn’t think of a plan that was sneaky enough. First they tried being very nice, and politely asked if they could see insider her pouch. Of course that didn’t work, so they decided to go to their house while they were sleeping and steal the pouch.
Ozzie and Celia waited at their house; they waited until they almost died from the cold. Finally after hours of waiting, Allison was asleep. They crept up the stairs very quietly and entered her room. They started looking for the pouch but couldn’t find it. Allison rolled over, and there it was, strapped to her body. “There it is!” Ozzie said quietly. “Okay let’s get it. We need to be very quiet. Go downstairs and get a knife so we can cut it off her.” Celia said. “Oh yeah and that’s not going to wake her up at all!” Ozzie said very sarcastically. “Don’t worry about that. I can be as quiet as a bug.” Celia reassured her.
Awhile later, Ozzie came up the stairs. “I got the knife. They had a lot to choose from.” Ozzie told Celia. Celia then got the knife and cut the pouch off of her. “This is it. We’re finally going to know what’s in this pouch.” Ozzie said. “I can’t wait!” Celia said. Ozzie ripped open the pouch and nothing was in it. All of a sudden the wind started blowing really hard and the rain started pouring. Tree limbs were flying everywhere and the wind was really picking up. “What’s happening?” Ozzie screamed. Just as Ozzie said that, Katrina came running into the room. “You weren’t supposed to open the pouch! Now Allison’s spirit is released!” Katrina screamed at them. Ozzie and Celia both looked at Allison and she had no life left in her. “This is Allison’s spirit?” Ozzie cried. “Yes! We have evil spirits in our pouch and once they are released, we die and a terrible storm is created.” Katrina cried out. The winds were going at least 84miles per hour now, and the rain was out of control. “Quickly! Down to the cellar!” Katrina told them. They rushed down into the cellar where they were safe.
A long time later, they got word that it was safe to come outside now. They came out the cellar and immediately started crying. They’re beautiful village of Noopu was now destroyed. Houses were ruined, tree branches were everywhere, and lives were lost. The storm was awful, and the whole village decided to call it a Hurricane’ Hurricane Allison.
To this day, ever y time someone opens the pouch of a member of that strange family, a terrible storm takes place. After the storm, they name the Hurricane after the pouch’s owner.

Jumping on Grass?

When I was in about 7 years old I was at my best friend Kylie’s house. She was showing me how she could swing on a tree branch and fall safely back on the tramp. I thought it was really cool and I really wanted to try it. I started out good but when I was supposed to let go, I was too scared so I let go way too late. Next thing I knew, my elbow hit the bar of the tramp and then I fell right on the grass. I just laid there for a second while my left arm was throbbing with pain. Kylie immediately asked me if I was okay, and I said yes because I didn’t want to look like a baby. We didn’t really do very much after that and I went home. As soon as I got home I started bawling and saying my arm hurt. My mom put some ice on it and we rushed off to price. I remember waiting there for a long time until finally the doctor came and made me get an x-ray. They told me that I broke my upper arm and I would need to go to Primary Children’s Hospital to get the surgery I needed. They wrapped up my arm and we were off to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City. As soon as I got there, they looked at my upper arm and told me that I would need surgery. I went into surgery that night and got two pins the size of a very large sewing needle but a little thicker, in my elbow. After surgery they told me that I would need to spend one night in the hospital so they could make sure everything was okay. My mom stayed the night with me and I remember watching all the Mary-Kate and Ashley movies I could ever want. It was a long night but in the morning I was set to go home. Awhile later I got to get the pins out of my arm. It felt like a worm was being dragged out of my skin, but didn’t hurt one bit. My arm had to heal for a long time, but after that I finally got to look at my scars. It looks like a snake bit my arm and left two holes right where its fangs would have been. It was actually pretty cool looking. Now that I’m older the scars have faded a bit and don’t stand out as much, but they are definitely still there. At least I always know my right arm from my left!
