Jumping on Grass?

When I was in about 7 years old I was at my best friend Kylie’s house. She was showing me how she could swing on a tree branch and fall safely back on the tramp. I thought it was really cool and I really wanted to try it. I started out good but when I was supposed to let go, I was too scared so I let go way too late. Next thing I knew, my elbow hit the bar of the tramp and then I fell right on the grass. I just laid there for a second while my left arm was throbbing with pain. Kylie immediately asked me if I was okay, and I said yes because I didn’t want to look like a baby. We didn’t really do very much after that and I went home. As soon as I got home I started bawling and saying my arm hurt. My mom put some ice on it and we rushed off to price. I remember waiting there for a long time until finally the doctor came and made me get an x-ray. They told me that I broke my upper arm and I would need to go to Primary Children’s Hospital to get the surgery I needed. They wrapped up my arm and we were off to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City. As soon as I got there, they looked at my upper arm and told me that I would need surgery. I went into surgery that night and got two pins the size of a very large sewing needle but a little thicker, in my elbow. After surgery they told me that I would need to spend one night in the hospital so they could make sure everything was okay. My mom stayed the night with me and I remember watching all the Mary-Kate and Ashley movies I could ever want. It was a long night but in the morning I was set to go home. Awhile later I got to get the pins out of my arm. It felt like a worm was being dragged out of my skin, but didn’t hurt one bit. My arm had to heal for a long time, but after that I finally got to look at my scars. It looks like a snake bit my arm and left two holes right where its fangs would have been. It was actually pretty cool looking. Now that I’m older the scars have faded a bit and don’t stand out as much, but they are definitely still there. At least I always know my right arm from my left!
